This fantastic hyalite opal features in our cutting video (Play Video).
The piece has been cut to ideal proportions to give great sparkle and be as clean a stone as possible which meant removing 77% of the stone during the cutting process. The resulting stone has great sparkle and phenominal fluorescence!
This stunning hyalite opal was mined in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. This is some of the most fluorescent material to come from the renowned Mexican deposits and has a slight day glow. When viewed under magnifications the polish of the piece shows the swirls the orginal growth structure playing across some of the facets, creating an intriguing, yet mostly hidden feature of the stone.
